The visionary Danish designer Verner Panton spent many years trying to perfect his concept of a chair molded into a single, continuous form. Together, with Vitra he developed the first prototypes in the early 1960's. The chair went into series production in 1967 and remains one of the most recognized and celebrated designs of the 20th century. Vitra's "Classic" Panton Chair is constructed of hard, molded plastic foam and finished with a high gloss lacquer paint. The piece is absolutely timeless and looks stunning in white, red or black. There is a cheaper version called the "Panton Chair"
for only $215.
